In the past I have used NetObjects Fusion (I started years ago with verson 5 or 6 and after new versions came out I updated each time and have been using NetObjects Fusion 10). I have recommended it for years, but have noticed that the newer versions were not always stable (they crashed for no reason) and work was lost.  When I was approached to check out XSitePro I watched the video and attended an 80-minute Webinar and decided to try it.  It seems to work very well, is easy to use and I am able to do advanced things such as RSS feeds and post videos and audio content without subscribing to Audio and Video Generators or buying separate software.

1. You simply open the program and click  “Start a NEW site.”  There are even templates that allow you to select from 3 to 10 preformed pages with titles such as About Us, Our Services, Contact Us, Staff Bio’s, etc. 
2. Then you select one of several hundred styles (and the entire site of 1 to 100+ pages will have the same look and feel — the same type of banner for the page title, the same navigation bar, etc.)
3. You type, or cut and paste from some other source, the content you want on the Home Page. 
4. When you like what you see, you click on a Publish button and the program will upload it to your host server (once you enter the setting that your host company gives you).
5. To add another page you switch from the Page View to the SIte View and right click on the Home page, select New Page, and another box will appear under the Home Page Box.  You give that page a title and when you click back to page view, The title will appear on a banner at the top of the page and on the blue bar above the page at the top of your browser.

For simple one page sites, you can create your page in Microsoft Word (assuming your computer runs Windows) and under the File Menu you select “Save As a Web Page” and give it a name.  By default on most host servers, your first web page is index.htm or index.html  In that way, when someone types in www.YourWebName.com the file that is displayed automatically is www.YourWebName.com/index.htm

If you want multipage sites, then you have to handle navigation from one page to another.  You might just make up an number of pages and save them as page1.html, page2.html, etc. and in the text of your home page, list the topic of each page and “link” it to the page#.html  

A much simpler approach is to use a program that will handle all of that and more.  I have used NetObjects Fusion for several years to manage my site. Microsoft Publisher also has multipage templates that give your site a unified look.
